Science for Sea Consortium Members Meet in Sopot

A Nauka Dla Morza organisational meeting took place on 21st December in Sopot and was attended in place of Rector Professor Adam Weintrit by Deputy Rector for Development Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk and Deputy Rector for Science Dr Dariusz Barbucha.

The meeting, which was convened in November, saw the presentation of the results of the Seaplanspace project - a maritime spatial planning initiative led by Gdansk University - by project leader Dr Dorota Pyć.

The “Science for Sea” consortium was established in November 2021 in order to provide a platform for the consolidation of activities in the development of offshore wind energy in Poland. Consortium members comprise eight higher education institutions that provide education and conduct research contributing to the development of the local offshore industry, including Szczecin Maritime Academy, the Federation of Military Academies (the Polish Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy), Gdansk University of Technology, Gdansk University (Consortium leader), Gdynia Maritime University, Szczecin University and the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.
