Job overview
We are looking for a Junior Technical Officer on 6 months fixed term contract for our Gdynia office, with the possibility of a contract extension.
 
The Junior Technical Officer is responsible for the procurement of materials and equipment based on the company needs. This role will also be responsible for assisting Senior Sea staff members on purchasing process requirements to comply with the Purchasing policies and instructions.
 
The Junior Technical Officer works alongside the Purchasing department and reports to The Procurement Manager.
 
About our Gdynia office
A collaborative, supportive and strong ship management team works in our open-space office in Poland. In our Gdynia office the successful candidate will work along with the Vetting, Technical, IT and Procurement departments as well as our London and Latvia offices.
 
Responsibilities:
 
• Sending out requests for quotes, processing Purchase Orders.
• Following up with suppliers when required to confirm or make changes in orders.
• Timely delivery of spare parts, provisions, and stores required for the safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
• Ensuring that reliable suppliers are on hand for purchasing a wide range of equipment.
• Assisting in distribution organisation for equipment.
• Assess new vendors and perform a regular review of existing suppliers.
• Supporting invoice verification.
• Processing of orders compliant with Purchasing policies and current legislation.
• Ad hoc Procurement projects to support the Procurement Manager.
 
Requirements:
 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
• Technical knowledge of ship’s equipment and quality standards.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to high quality and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workloads.
