and hands-on maritime training.

Defined by the Sea

Gdynia Maritime University owns and operates three training ships, the world-famous tall ship Dar Młodzieży the flagship of our University, city, and country – an exceptional ambassador for Poland; a modern research and training ship Horyzont II, capable of sailing in polar waters; and the research vessel IMOR, equipped with the most recent technologies.

Our vessels sail in the polar region, crossing the boundless waters of the seas
and oceans with students on board. They are also the place of work of our scientists
researching the Polish coastal zone.

The University’s fleet also includes the sailing yachts Nest, Almak, and Twins; motor yacht Imoros 3 and RIB-type boats Sportis and Zodiak.

Future seafarers learn the art of ship manoeuvring on the waters of Silm Lake.

Offshore

Gdynia Maritime University contributes to the creation of a local, Polish supply chain for
the offshore industry. We are a leader in environmental research and developing documentation
for maritime projects, especially in relation to wind energy.

We educate future personnel for the offshore industry to
bachelor's, master’spostgraduate, and MBA levels.

Gdynia Maritime University Centre for the Offshore Industry is Poland’s biggest
and most advanced offshore research and education centre.
The Centre is the Headquarters of the GMU Maritime Institute and
