Almak

Almak na wodzie

ALMAK has spent its entire sailing career at our university, serving students and staff. It is currently used mainly for training and tourism purposes in Gdańsk Bay, occasionally venturing out onto the Baltic for short voyages.

Its distinctive design and traditional equipment make it perfectly suited for sailing instruction – thousands of people have obtained their certificates on board over the decades.

ALMAK has sailed around the Baltic many times and has reached the North Sea several times.

It is a 9.1-metre-long HTC-31 yacht, built in 1973 at the Conrad Shipyard in Gdańsk. Initially, it was intended to serve as a half-ton class racing yacht, but although multiple vessels of this class were built, the class was never developed in practice. Thanks to its KWR coefficient, it can participate in regattas in Gdańsk Bay and the Vistula Lagoon.
