Navigating Knowledge, Serving the Sea
Gdynia Maritime University is one of the largest maritime universities in the European Union and worldwide. For over a century, we have been training professionals for both the Polish and international merchant fleet, as well as for the onshore sectors of the maritime economy.
Gdynia Maritime – By Name and By Nature
Our Maritime University is located in Gdynia – a modern port city, open to the sea.
Gdynia is the home port of the University’s training vessels, Dar Młodzieży and Horyzont II, and in the city’s marina the University keeps its sailing yachts – Nest, Almak, and Twins.
Opposite the marina is the Faculty of Navigation building, the planetarium, and one of the University’s student residences.
The University’s main building stands on Gdynia’s longest street — ul. Morska.
Here, on the university's main campus, you’ll also find the Sports and Recreation Centre, featuring a modern sports hall, gym, sauna zone and conference rooms. The new student residence is soon to be built, joining the two existing student residences located nearby, which already provide almost 200 accommodation places for students.
Thanks to the University’s extensive teaching and research facilities, our graduates leave not only with solid theoretical knowledge but also with valuable practical skills gained through workshops and hands-on training.
At sea and on land!
The University offers its students a wide range of engaging degree programmes in response to the needs of the national and international labour markets.
