Organization of classes and the functioning of GMU

Due to the entry of Gdynia, Gdansk and almost all districts of the Pomeranian Region to the red zone from October 17, 2020, new safety rules will apply under the decision of the Polish Council of Ministers. They also cover the functioning of universities with their seat in the city/district included in the red zone. According to these principles, in the universities operating in these cities / distinct, "remote teaching (excluding practical classes) is obligatory".

Taking into account the above, the authorities of the Gdynia Maritime University decided as follows:
  1. Classes requiring the student's presence at the university will continue to be held in a full-time mode, subject to the sanitary regime.
  2. Physical education classes will be conducted remotely.
  3. The Deans of Faculties decide to maintain individual courses in the full-time mode of the faculties.
  4. The above rules also apply to part-time students who on October 16 (Friday) take classes according to the current regulations - in force in the yellow zone, and from October 17 (Saturday) switch to the remote education mode under 1-3.
  5. University employees work under the rules established so far, with increased safety measures and sanitary regime.
  6. The rules mentioned above apply until the Gdynia city area is excluded from the red zone, or the restrictions in a given zone are changed.

Bearing in mind the safety of students, doctoral students and all employees of the Gdynia Maritime University, the university authorities call for absolute compliance by all persons with the guidelines specified for the "red zone".

The most important of them are:
- mandatory covering of the mouth and nose in public spaces (also on the campus and in the buildings of the GMU),
- maintaining social distance,
- regular hand washing and disinfection.
