Pomeranian Rectors Meet at Koszalin University of Technology
GMU Rector Adam Weintrit took part in a meeting of the rectors of Pomeranian institutes of higher education on Tuesday 9th November at the Koszalin University of Technology.
The Rectors of eight universities and academies held discussions on a cooperation agreement for the development of offshore wind energy on Poland’s Baltic coast. During the meeting, it was agreed that joining forces in order to make use of the full range of capabilities offered by the institutes would facilitate the implementation of important scientific projects. Also discussed were the possible areas of cooperation as well as the final format and framework of the agreement. The agreement will provide the opportunity for the Universities to undertake joint projects with a view to their implementation in support of the national and local economy, including projects contracted from other entities.
The meeting was hosted by the Rector of the Koszalin University of Technology, Dr Danuta Zawadzka and was also attended by - Professor Krzysztof Wilde - Rector of Gdansk University of Technology, Vice admiral Professor Tomasz Szubrycht - Rector of the Naval Academy in Gdynia, Dr Wojciech Ślączka - Rector of Szczecin Maritime Academy, Professor Waldemar Tarczyński - Rector of Szczecin University, Dr Jacek Wróbel - Rector of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, and in place of Rector of Gdansk University Professor Piotr Stepnowski, Deputy Rector Krzysztof Bielawski.
