GMU Alumni Wins Competition for Mayor of Gdynia Award
The Bachelor of Engineering dissertation of Justyna Horbacz, a graduate of the Faculty of Management and Quality Science, entitled "The attitudes of the residents of Gdynia towards innovation in urban space as part of the shaping of the image of a modern city and the quality of life" under the supervision of Romuald Zabrocki was awarded the Mayor of Gdynia Award for the best academic work in 2022 dedicated to the economic development of the city.
With the announcement of the winners, another edition of the competition for the Mayor of Gdynia Award for the best bachelor's, bachelor of engineering, master's, or doctoral work on the economic development of Gdynia has come to an end.
The idea of the competition is to encourage students of different disciplines to focus on topics that are important for the development of Gdynia in a creative, intelligent and attainable way. To be entered into the competition, works were required to have focused on the development of the city and its competitiveness, and relate to plans and programmes implemented by the local government.
The external expert for the Competition was Professor Tadeusz Palmowski from the Department of Regional Development Geography at the University of Gdansk.
In this year's edition, three papers were awarded, with each of the winners receiving a prize of PLN 2,000.
The winners included Justyna Horbacz, a graduate of the Faculty of Management and Quality Science at Gdynia Maritime University.
The supervisor of Justyna's bachelor of engineering dissertation entitled "The attitudes of the residents of Gdynia towards innovation in urban space as part of the shaping of the image of a modern city and the quality of life," was Romuald Zabrocki.
