GMU Promoted at Education Fair in Puck
On 12th October 2022, representatives of three faculties as well as the GMU Promotion and Communications Office took part in an education fair for schools held in the Centre for Vocational and Continual Education in Puck.
A GMU delegation was on hand to answer questions and provide details to young people visiting the University stand, as well as their teachers. The fair was a great opportunity to promote the education the University has to offer, as well as its rich maritime traditions and uniform character.
The attending representatives each presented the fields of study taught in their own faculties from the Faculty of Marine Engineering Anna Lesnau, the Faculty of Navigation Ewelina Ziajka, and representing the Faculty of Management and Quality Science, Witold Kozirok. Joining them was Łukasz Nowicki of the GMU Promotion and Communications Office.
During the fair, numerous talks were held with students of the school, as well as teachers with whom the representatives also exchanged contacts. The successful talks convinced many individuals they’d like to visit the University in person.
In addition to the conversations that took place at our stand, where promotional items were handed out, GMU staff also offered coffee freshly brewed on-site, (offered under the slogan “let’s start with a cup of coffee”) which was very popular. There was also a competition in which pens, lanyards, puzzles and an original songbook of sea shanties were given away.
In addition to talking to the school pupils, our representatives also presented the University in front of a wider audience. As the fair was divided into group sessions according to specialisation, GMU staff spoke to a new group of pupils every hour.
