GMU Support for Students from Ukraine
The University’s Ukrainian students can count on the support of GMU staff and students. This was the message conveyed today during a specially arranged meeting with
Deputy Rector for Education, Mirosław Czechowski. During the meeting, the group of students from Ukraine were assured of the support of the entire University academic community and given details of the avenues of support open to them.
HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit has exempt Ukrainian students from payment of University student accommodation fees for the month of March.
Students were also informed of the opportunity to attend a newly prepared Polish language course, as well as independent means of obtaining welfare and social scholarships.
Currently studying at GMU are 49 students from Ukraine.
Additionally, students were given details on the psychological, financial and materials support offered by the city of Gdynia. https://gdyniawspiera.pl/(link is external)
Interventional psychological support : Tel. 515 475 543, Monday to Friday 10:00-16:00 .
Psychological support is available at the Crisis Intervention Centre, Tel. 58 622 22 22, open 24 hours. The centre offers ongoing support and is able to arrange for individual consultations with a psychologist, also in Ukrainian.

Support is also available 24 hours a day by calling a dedicated infoline setup by local authorities in Gdynia: 723 236 666. The Infoline is able to help with finding accommodation, meals, and psychological or administrative support.
