PGDip in Offshore Risk Management Gets Underway Under Patronage of PGE Baltica

The first sessions of Gdynia Maritime University’s “Risk Management in the Offshore Extraction and Offshore Wind Industries” conducted under the patronage of PGE Baltica took place on Saturday.

The opening lectures were given by Offshore Wind Energy Coordination Board members Sławomir Bałdyga of the Polish Registry of Shipping and Łukasz Sikorski - director of the Baltic Division of OWC, a global consultant in the offshore wind energy industry.

The lectures were held at the Faculty of Navigation on John Paul street.

Students on the course were welcomed by the dean of the Faculty of Navigation - Associate Professor Tomasz Neumann, DSc(Eng) and the head of studies,  Associate Professor Agnieszka Blokus-Dziula. Also making an appearance were HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit and CEO of PGE Baltica Dariusz Lociński.

The new postgraduate study programme is aimed at managers and technicians working within the offshore industry and its constituent sectors. The programme will last two semesters and be taught over 190 contact hours, including lectures, exercises, laboratory sessions and practical lessons.
