During a Congress held in Gdansk, Rector Professor Adam Weintrit accepted the Paweł Adamowicz Smart Metropolia Award.

The award ceremony took place on the first day of the Smart Metropolia Congress 2022. The 10th edition of the event honoured the Rectors and Deans of Tri-City Universities for their efforts to increase cooperation and the role of the metropolitan area as a first-class centre for science.

Also among this year's winners were asocial activists working to create and implement a metropolitan standard for the benefit of people with disabilities.

The awards were presented by Agnieszka Owczarczak, Chair of the City Council of Gdansk and Magdalena Adamowicz, MEP and wife of the patron of the award.
