Gdynia Maritime University GMU

Council of Tricity academic IT Network Users (RU TASK) met at GMU on 16th December, where discussion were held in the Main Library. The meeting was the first ever to be held outside of its headquarters at Gdansk University of Technology.

The main topics of the meeting were the construction of the STOS Competence Centre and the characteristics of services provided by the TASK information centre and their financing.

TASK Information Centre

TASK is mostly identified with the TASK IT Centre (CI TASK), an operator of networks and professional software platforms that support science and research and development. The Centre provides services  high-power computing, cloud services, data collection and processing services, as well as network services. The Centre's network services in particular guarantee access to the Internet at Tri-City scientific institutions, including the Gdynia Maritime University.

Today's technical possibilities allow CI TASK to provide a 10Gbps Internet connection. The IT Centre provides technical space for the use of online domains and e-mails for academic teachers, staff and students for the purpose of conducting their academic activity. CI TASK also provides access to eduroam and commercial services.
