GMU Holds Swimming Competitions for University Celebration Day
On 5th December 2023, a series of swimming competitions took place at the University’s swimming pool in the Faculty of Navigation. Organised in anticipation of GMU Celebration Day, the competitions were entered by a total of 404 swimmers. 342 participants took part in four individual races and a further 62 participants competed in relays between the University’s four faculties.
The winner of the women’s individual swimming competition was Dominika Siemczuk, a student in the Faculty of Marine Engineering. The winner of the men’s individual swimming competition was Wiktor Telega, a student in the Faculty of Navigation.
In the relays, the winning teams were
- women’s relay: Antonina Andrusiewicz (Navigation), Dominika Siemczuk (Marine Engineering), Oliwia Skalska (Management and Quality Science), Olga Jaskólska (Management and Quality Science);
- men's relay: Aleksander Jetter (Navigation), Paweł Dominik (Navigation), Wiktor Szafrański (Navigation), Iwo Adamowicz (Navigation), Leonard Kijeński (Navigation), Oliwier Studziński (Navigation).
The event benefited from an outstanding atmosphere, with attendance at its highest in many years.
