GMU Library Included in National Library Network
We are pleased to announce following the decision of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Piotr Gliński, the Main Gdynia Maritime University library has been incorporated into the National Library Network.
According to Article 27 of the Library Act of 27th June 1997, the National Library Network aims to provide a common coordinated system for the use of library materials and other sources of information. The performance of tasks by individual libraries as outlined in the Act is overseen by the National Library.
The National Library Network includes public libraries and others included in the decision of the Minister responsible for Cultural Affairs and the Protection of National Heritage.
Gdynia Maritime University’s library will cooperate with other network libraries in the following areas:
- gathering, development, storage and sharing of collections;
- the preparation and dissemination of bibliographical and documentation information;
- scientific research activities and the education and professional development of library staff;
- exchange and transfer of library materials and information.
