Faculty of Navigation Wins "Studies of the Future 2024" Award

The Faculty of Navigation at Gdynia Maritime University has once again been honoured with the Certificate of Accreditation at the 9th edition of the "Studies of the Future" national competition and accreditation programme.

The competition awards the most innovative and modern degrees and study programmes at Polish universities. The prestigious title of "Studies of the Future 2024" was awarded to the Faculty of Navigation for its undergraduate (first-cycle) degrees in navigation.

Owing to an excellent score and the greatest progress in the context of accreditation criteria as well as its contemporary approach to education and the effort put into preparing the competition entry, the Faculty of Navigation of GMU was awarded a statue and a 'Progress of the Year' Certificate of Excellence, 

Futher recognition to the Faculty of Navigation and its staff came in the form of  'PREMIUM' Certificates of Excellence awarded to the heads of the best degree programmes in Poland.

The certificates and awards were received by the Dean of the Faculty of Navigation, Dr Tomasz Neumann, during a ceremony held on 4 March 2024, at the Radio Wroclaw Concert Hall.

The "Studies of the Future" project is a competition based on quality and a nationwide environmental accreditation programme aimed at higher education institutions.  The programme rewards the fields and specialisations of study that stand out for the modernity of their approach to education, the innovation of learning outcomes, the innovativeness of their practical education model and the level of achievement of academic goals in line with the needs and expectations of the labour market, in close cooperation with the social and economic environment.

The quality mark "Studies of the Future" is granted to fields and specialisations of study which are based on three foundations: the aim of transferring currently applied, modern knowledge, the creation of the skills and social competencies sought by employers, and investment in the highest quality of education.

The organisers of the Programme are the Foundation for the Development of Compulsory and Higher Education and the Creative Agency of the public relations company PRC.  The certificates were awarded based on recommendations and proposals of the Certification Committee, representing the academic and economic environments as well as NGOs.
