GMU Granted NAWA Funding for the Creation of International Study Programmes as Part of the Katamaran Project
Gdynia Maritime University has been awarded financing under the Katamaran Programme, conducted by the International Agency for Academic Exchange, for the creation and launch of international study programmes. A Polish-Chinese undergraduate degree programme in electro-mobility and renewable energy sources will be developed and launched as part of the part of the programme.
The total amount of awarded funds is PLN 679, 733.99
Project Duration: 01.10.2024 r. - 31.03.2026 r.
The project outcomes are:
1. Develop and launch an international education programme, which will conclude a joint or double diploma developed in collaboration with employers from Poland and China for the development needs of the economy and the green and digital transformation (first-cycle degree education in electro-mobility and renewable energy).
2. Adaption of the education system to the needs of the development needs of the economy and the green and digital transformation.
3. Further the internationalisation of GMU.
4. The ability to build international research teams on solutions for green energy and electro-mobility.
5. Greater international recognition of GMU in electromobility and renewable energy sources.
6. Development of the qualifications or competencies of the staff involved in the implementation of education in the newly developed field of study.
The positive outcomes achieved will allow for the development of the international teaching and research potential of GMU. The project is closely related to the current strategic goals of GMU in relation to the internationalisation of research and teaching, and the strengthening of the position of GMU as a national and international academic centre.
