5th Edition of Workshops on "Belzona in Marine Engineering” Held at GMU
On 21 March 2025, the 5th edition of the Scientific and Technical workshops entitled "Belzona in Marine Engineering" took place in the main auditorium at Gdynia Maritime University. Participants were welcomed by HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit. The event was organised by Belse Sp. z o.o. in collaboration with the Faculty of Marine Engineering and the Nautica Scientific Circle.
The first part of the event was led by Belse's Technical Director, Roman Masek, who demonstrated the possibilities of the use of Belzona composite materials, designed for use in difficult marine environments. Thanks to Belse's experience in the Polish maritime industry, the workshop participants were able to see examples of the use of protective coatings and composites for the mechanical repairs of Belzona, which are characterised by extremely high resistance to erosion and corrosion in the marine environment.
The second part was led by Belse's Technical Director, R Masek, and was made up of workshops on technological bonding techniques and structural reinforcement, including the repair of a ship's hull, deck, and superstructure. The workshops also included practical demonstrations of the composite material.
