Dr Tomasz Studzieniecki Appointed Expert at European Commission Conference
Dr Tomasz Studzieniecki, a member of staff at the Department of Marketing and Quantitative Methods, will take part in the “Bridging Borders, Building Future” in Suwalki on 7 October following an invitation from the European Commission.
The Polish-Lithuanian border region – often referred to as the Suwałki Gap – has found itself at the centre of Europe’s attention. As the geopolitical landscape shifts, existing forms of cooperation must adapt to new realities. A more effective framework for collaboration is needed, with tourism set to remain a key driver of growth. The Conference will be dedicated to future mechanisms for the funding of cross-border.
Dr Tomasz Studzieniecki has for many years actively worked for the integration of the border regions. He is an expert at the European Commission on cross-border cooperation and took part in the process of establishing the Cross-Border Functional Area on the Polish-Lithuanian border. He is also engaged in the EU COST action ‘PEACE’, which brings together international experts on peace and conflict studies.
The Suwałki conference will provide a platform to share experiences from the intersection of science, policy, and cross-border cooperation, and to highlight future directions for regional partnership.
