Scholarly Evenings with Gdynia Maritime University - 26 March 2025
On 26 March 2025, GMU will hold another lecture as part of its Scholarly Evenings with Gdynia Maritime University.
The topic of this week’s popular science lecture will be "Insects: An Alternative Food Source for Humanity.”
The lecture aims to present basic information about the nutritional properties of insects and their breeding. In early 2023, the EU officially approved the house cricket species for use in food production. Participating in the lecture can be an excellent starting point for discovering the benefits of alternative food sources and breaking existing stereotypes about insect consumption.
Speaking this week will be Dr Millena Ruszkowska, a member of the research and teaching staff in the Faculty of Management and Quality Science.
Following the lecture, participants are invited for refreshments where there will be the chance to discuss the topic with the speaker.
Where: main auditorium at the Faculty of Navigation (al. Jana Pawła II 3, Gdynia)
When: 18:00 on Wednesday 26 March.
Entry is free of charge and open to all (the lecture will be given in Polish only)
The Scholarly Evenings with Gdynia Maritime University initiative includes 20 lectures presented by experienced academic lecturers affiliated with GMU held on average twice a month (every second Wednesday at 18:00) at the University’s Faculty of Navigation. Lectures are open to the public and entry is free of charge.
