Sea Shanty Songbook Republished for 105th Anniversary of Maritime Education
Singing sea shanties and sailors’ songs has, for generations, been an inseparable part of the lives of cadets and students on our training ships – Lwów, Dar Pomorza, and Dar Młodzieży. It brings joy and creates a maritime spirit and lasting memories.
To mark the 105th anniversary of maritime education in Poland, the fifth edition of the songbook Wherever the Waves May Take Us… has been published. The songbook includes nearly 500 shanties, from classic favourites and gems known from sailing camps to completely new compositions. It is both a tribute to tradition and an inspiration for the next generations of shanty singers – students, lecturers, sailors, and lovers of sea songs.
First-year students can get their copy of the songbook during their Faculty’s Adaptation Day.
