SR Robotics Presents Specialist Robots at GMU Centre for the Offshore Industry
On 29 September 2025, Polish company SR Robotics gave a demonstration of the capabilities of robots used for specialised work in aquatic environments. The presentation took place at GMU’s Centre for the Offshore Industry and was attended by HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit; Filip Malata, GMU Chancellor; Professor Captain Zbigniew Burciu, Rector’s Plenipotentiary for Strategic Projects; and Tomasz Łączyński, CEO of the GMU Officer Training Centre. Those attending the presentation were welcomed by the Director of the GMU Maritime Institute, Professor Krzysztof Czaplewski.
SR Robotics was represented by Piotr Ściegienka, CTO, Tomasz Hartwig, CEO, and Tomasz Borowik, COO. The event was accompanied by a discussion with research staff from the Maritime Institute, during which various robots were analysed in terms of their potential application in projects conducted by the Institute.
In 2024, HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit, signed a non-disclosure agreement with the company SR Robotics for increased cooperation in relation to carrying out research and R&D projects in autonomous shipping, autonomous underwater vehicles, and underwater robotics.
