GMU Authorities Take Part in Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities Sitting

On 23 to 24 January 2024, HM The Rector of GMU, Professor Adam Weintrit, is taking part in a sitting of the Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPUT), held at the Lodz University of Technology during celebrations of the University’s 80th anniversary.

The topics discussed at the sitting include current challenges and difficulties faced by universities, including the issue of aid for victims of the recent floods in southern Poland, as well as the new visa law aimed at supporting international student exchanges. In view of the decrease in the number of students on master’s degree programmes, a further topic of discussion of the rectors during the meeting is the education of the students at postgraduate level. The meeting is also an opportunity to discuss opportunities for Polish science as a result of the forthcoming Polish Presidency of the EU.

The Conference of Rectors of Polish Technical Universities (KRPUT) currently brings together 23 rectors of technical universities and 10 associated universities operating in Poland. Membership in the association is voluntary.
