GMU One of Nine Signatories in Agreement with Energa-Operator
Gdynia Maritime University, alongside nine other higher education institutions, has signed an agreement with the Energa Group energy distribution company Energa-Operator on the education of students for the future energy industry. Signing the agreement on behalf of GMU was Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk, Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development.
Gdynia Maritime University is actively involved in the development of offshore wind energy and was one of the first signatories of the Pomerania Platform for the Development of Offshore Wind Energy in the Baltic. The University sees offshore wind as a natural direction for its development, whether it be in R&D, providing expertise, or the education of future personnel for the needs of the energy and maritime industries. Similarly, this is how we view our collaboration with Energa-Operator, a company which is an essential part of the Pomeranian energy ecosystem. We aim to provide the company with B&R services through the use of GMU specialists and infrastructure, and produce professionals with competencies that meet the current challenges faced by the energy industry. We look forward to cooperating with Energa Operator, exchanging information about the company’s expectations of our graduates, and working together in the education of our students – said Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk – Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development at Gdynia Maritime University.
The signatories of the agreement are: Gdynia Maritime University, Gdansk Tech, University of Gdańsk, WSB Merito University Gdansk, Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, Koszalin University of Technology, Pomeranian University in Słupsk, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, President Stanisław Wojciechowski University in Kalisz, and Poznań University of Technology.
