Independence Day Parade

On 11th November each year, Gdynia traditionally celebrates the anniversary of Poland's regaining of independence in 1918. One of the highlights of the event is the Independence Parade.

The parade begins at 12:00 pm at City Hall and makes it way to the Polish Maritime Monument in Kościuszko Square (new route from 2022), where official celebrations take place with the participation of the City's authorities, heads of the navy, and representatives of social organisations. Each year, students, doctoral candidates, and staff of Gdynia Maritime University join in the celebrations.
