Rector Meets with Minister for Climate and the Environment

HM Rector of Gdynia Maritime University Professor Adam Weintrit met with the newly appointed Minister for Climate and the Environment, Anna Moskwa, on Wednesday 24th November in Warsaw.

The meeting which took place on the occasion of Ms Moska’s assumption of office was also attended by the director of the minister’s office, Michał Wójcik.

Talks with the minister focused on the potential areas of cooperation and sectoral agreements between the Ministry for Climate and the Environment and GMU, which would further establish the University’s Maritime Institute as a centre of environmental research.

The Maritime institute conducts pre-investment environmental research for the majority of companies involved in projects for offshore wind farms of the Polish coast. A long-term agreement would position us nationally as a leading supplier of services in the field – commented after the meeting Rector Professor Weintrit.

It is of utmost importance in the interests of our country to make the most of the opportunity to create value within the offshore energy sector in Poland in respect of local content.
