Stargazing Meetup in Gdynia

Gdynia Maritime University, Centrum Nauki Experyment, and Gdynia City Council would like to invite you to attend the second edition of "Less Light, More Stars" - a stargazing meetup in Gdynia. The event will take place on the 12th and 13th of August between 16:00 and 23:00 at the North Pier, and will meet next to the steel sail monument.

The meet-up will give you the chance to take a closer look at the stars using telescopes and binoculars, visit Gdynia Maritime University's planetarium,  and observe the sun with a solar telescope.

We will also:

  • observe the star constellations found in both hemispheres,
  • make a model of the moon,
  • conduct shade and light experiments which will show us the colours of the cosmos,
  • build and set off a rocket!

Demonstrations in the planetarium will take place at  16:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, and 19:30. A free pass for entrance to the demonstrations can be collected from the Centrum Nauki Experyment tent at the North Pier on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August from 15:40.
