In 2022, Gdynia Maritime University's sail training ship received the 'Voyage of the Year Award' for its "prominent role in the history of Polish sailing":

"40 years of the frigate "Dar Młodzieży" - Poland's flagship sailing ship. More than 20,000 future merchant fleet officers and captains trained under the sails of the ship, which has sailed around the globe and Cape Horn, and is one of the most popular representatives of the world's sailing fleet".

The distinction was presented at the European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk to Professor Adam Weintrit - Rector of Gdynia Maritime University, Dr Bogumił Łączyński, Director of the Ship Management Office, and Captain Rafał Szymański - Captain of the "Dar Młodzieży".
