General Map, Descriptions and Other Useful Materials
Below is a general map showing the locations of all 42 control points that make up the GMU network of Permanent Orienteering Courses as well as other useful materials such as control point descriptions. In addition to the general orienteering map, also available for download below are maps showing the positions of all control points in the GMU Permanent Orienteering Courses network in different formats: historical (Messtischblatt) and topographic (10k and 25k) The maps have been prepared using a scale of 1:10,000 and are designed to be printed on A4 paper. The sources of data used in the maps are a topographic map to a scale of 1:10,000 in the "1965" coordinate system, a topographic map to a scale of 1:10,000 in the "1992" coordinate system, a topographic map to a scale of 1:25,000 in the "1965" coordinate system, a "Messtischblatt" German topographic map to a scale of 1:25,000, and a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) from 2022 (Geoportal).
