GMU Developed Mobile App 'Dylli' Granted Intellectual Property Rights

The Polish Patent Office has awarded Gdynia Maritime University intellectual property rights for industrial designs entitled “Graphic Mobile Application User Interface for the Mobile Application Dylli”. The award of the intellectual property rights is recorded on a registration certificate issued on 13 March 2024 under registration numbers PL 29202 and 29203. The creators of the solution are Associate Professor Dr Adam Przybyłowski of the Department of Transport in the Faculty of Transport, GMU doctoral candidate Weronika Ceynowa, and Piotr Wojtasik - both previous students of the Faculty of Management and Quality Science, and Łukasz Ciskowski.

The subject of protection is the final product design for a mobile application dedicated to supporting logistics, modern warehouse management, and distribution channels as part of the creation of a sustainable supply chain. The app facilitates cooperation with the on-trade sector through the creation of flexible organisational structures and omnichannel management, provides quick and intuitive access to essential functions, and can be personalised according to user requirements. The solution is aimed at the gastronomy and hotel industries.

The prototype for the mobile application, together with the relevant know-how and its logo were developed and registered for protection as part of pre-implementation work UMG-06 (RWK/II 4.0/4/12/2020) under the programme Innovation Incubator 4.0, carried out under a non-competitive programme entitled Support for Scientific Research and the Commercialisation of R&D Outcomes at Scientific Bodies and Organisations as part of the EU’s Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014-2020 (Action 4.4). The innovative invention was awarded with a silver medal at the International Warsaw Invention Show in 2023 and is one of the University’s first technological inventions.
