Maritime Operations Department

The primary purpose of the Maritime Operations Department is to manage Gdynia Maritime University’s fleet and organise essential sea training placements for its students.

To fulfill this mission, the department focuses on two core responsibilities:

  • Fleet Operation & Maintenance: Running and servicing GMU’s active training vessels, Dar Młodzieży and Horyzont II.

  • Student Sea Training Placements: Partnering with reputable maritime agencies to secure professional onboard training opportunities.

An integral part of GMU since the end of World War II, the department is powered by a team of specialists with extensive experience across the maritime industry and commercial sectors at sea.
