About Us
What is the Scientific Society Council?
The Scientific Society Council is an advisory body of Gdynia Maritime University authorities on matters connected with the student scientific movement. The Council provides opinions on the allocation of material resources to the University bodies, scientific circles and student organisations. Our task is to contribute to the association, development, and integration of the student scientific movement. The SSC is a place for talented and ambitious students who want to develop their skills.
What are the objectives of the Scientific Society Council?
- Represent Scientific Circles in front of GMU authorities and national and at international forums in contact with institutions that are interested in cooperating with them.
- Create a platform for cooperation and exchange of experience between the GMU Scientific Circles, similar organisations, and Polish and foreign universities.
- Support the development of Scientific Societies.
- Collect funds for Scientific Society activities.
- Association and integration of Scientific Society members.
- Organise the University's Scientific Society Seminar
- Produce and Publish the "Works of the GMU Scientific Societies," journal
How is the Council structured?
The Council is composed of delegates – one from each Scientific Society. The Council is led by a Chair chosen from among the delegates. Only the delegates have the right to vote on behalf of their Society. However, all members of each of the Scientific Society have the right to attend and take part in the discussion. Scientific Socities members carry out the projects and initiatives of the SSC.
All Scientific Society members must have the opportunity to take part in the projects of the SSC and support its ongoing work. The more people are involved, the more we can achieve.
