Gdynia Maritime University GMU

On 10 October 2023, during the 22nd BALTEXPO International Maritime Expositions and Conferences began, Gdynia Maritime University was awarded the Gold Anchor in the "Offshore" category. 

The BALTEXPO Gold Anchor is the award granted to companies and institutions whose projects, products, services, activities or achievements during the two years following the last edition of the event have had or may have a significant impact on economic development. Awards are granted in five thematic and two special categories. Our University was awarded the Gold Anchor in the "Offshore" category for "education and research for the needs of offshore wind energy".

The award was presented to HM The Rector Professor Adam Weintrit by the President of the Gdansk International Expositions, Andrzej Bojanowski. In his thank you speech for the prestigious award, the Rector said:

"In all four faculties, we have launched 1st-cycle or 2nd-cycle degrees, postgraduate studies, and MBA programmes, which are to educate future managers of the offshore wind energy sector. We saw the potential in the undeveloped area between the sea and the land, and that is the offshore area".
