GMU Celebrates Independence Day
HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit, Deputy Rectors Dr Dariusz Barbucha and Dr Mirosław Czechowski, and students from the University Guard of Honour, took part in celebrations in Gdynia for Poland’s Independence Day.
The event began punctually at midday with the singing of the National Anthem and the raising of the Polish flag. After the reading of an order specially dedicated to the occasion, a 21-gun salute was fired from the museum ship ORP Błyskawica.
Celebrations came to a close with the reading of a remembrance roll call, a ceremonial salute, and the placing of flowers by the delegation at the foot of the Polish Maritime Monument.
