Ambassador for the Philippines visits Poland
Friday 12th August saw a visit to Gdynia Maritime University by the Ambassador of the Philippines, Ms Leah M. Basinang-Ruiz.
The aim of the visit was to discuss the possibilities for cooperation between Polish and Philippines centres of maritime education and institutions connected with the maritime industry. During the meeting, the Ambassador was introduced to the University, including its rich history and plans for further development. The Ambassador presented plans for the celebration of the 50th anniversary of relations between our countries, due to take place next year.
- The Ambassador’s visit provided the perfect opportunity to exchange experiences in maritime education and training carried out in Poland and the Philippines. The talks are just the start of further relations and cooperation between our University and higher education institutions in the Philippines Deputy –commented the Deputy Rector for Science Dariusz Barbucha.
The University was represented by HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit, Sławomir Kalicki - a member of the University Council, Deputy Rector for Science Dr Dariusz Barbucha, and Deputy Rector for education Dr Sambor Guze.
