Collection in Support of Ukraine
HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit is encouraging University staff and students to donate items for those in need from Ukraine. Let’s show our support and solidarity with the people of Ukraine at this difficult time.
A collection will take place at the University from 28th February to 4th March. Goods may be left at:
- the lodge (portiernia) of the main GMU building (7:30 - 18:00)
- the lodge (portiernia) at the main entrance of the Faculty of Navigation (7:30 - 18:00)
- reception at Student Halls of Residence 2, 3 and 4 (7:30 - 18:00)
- the main hall at the Maritime Institute (7:30 - 15:15)
Items particularly in need:
- sleeping bags, blankets, bed linen, duvets, pillows, large bath towels
- small household items (cups, cutlery, electric kettles)
- personal hygiene products (pads, tampons, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, etc.)
- paper towels, toilet paper, tissues
- food with a long shelf life (pasta, rice, groats, oil, etc.)
- baby food (powdered milk, baby food, porridge)
- nappies and wet wipes
- cuddly toys for children
- medicines, first-aid kits
