GMU at PACTT Science Business Innovation EXPO 2022

The first PACTT Science Business Innovation EXPO 2022 trade fair took place on Wednesday and Thursday (18-19th May) in Lodz, alongside a forum for the exchange of know-how and experience aimed at Polish entrepreneurs and investment companies supporting commercialisation and the transfer of technology from universities to industry.

The Exhibition for Innovation of Polish Universities and Research Centres was organised by the Centre for Business Innovation of the Lodz University of Technology, with the help of the Polish Association of Centres for Technology Transfer, at the request of the Ministry for Education and Science.

Gdynia Maritime University was represented at the event by innovation brokers Anna Baczewska and Anna Żuławska of the University's Intellectual Property and Research Commercialisation Team. The Team presented the research services on offer at GMU as well as solutions developed based on Microgrants as part of the Innovation Incubator 4.0 project:

“Artisan Ice Cream with Health-Promoting Potential” - Faculty of Management and Quality Science
"Equipment for a Mobile Diving Sea Rescue Service Base" - Faculty of Navigation
"Ship Onboard Distributed Machine and Equipment Electric Power Monitoring System" - Faculty of Electrical Engineering
"A Finishing Method for Welded Surfaces and the Tools Required" - Faculty of Marine Engineering
"HurtHub" - Faculty of Navigation

Also discussed were the University's investment projects, prototypes currently being developed by our staff, as well as plans for their further development. Participation in this year's event provided an excellent opportunity to engage in discussion in the Expo's Networking Zone and explore the potential for cooperation in the development of technology and services for industry. The PSBI trade fair was accompanied by discussion panels and a seminar on the most recent technologies resulting from cooperation between science and business.

Honorary patronage of the Trade Fair was provided the Ministry of Education and Science and the Mayor of Lodz and the Mayor and Marshall of the Lodz District.
