On 20th April 2022, HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit presented a nomination for the post of Deputy Director of the GMU Maritime Institute.

Taking up the role is Rafał Kapale, who has many years of experience in building and managing capital groups, both at an operational and management level, developing and implementing restructuring programs, and creating financial strategies, including as a member of management boards, supervisory boards and boards of directors of domestic and foreign companies.

He worked for more than 12 years for the LOTOS Group, in posts such as director of the Shares Management Office, head of the Economics Office and CEO of the Management Board of UAB LOTOS Baltija (Lithuania) and financial director at LOTOS Paliwa.

Rafał Kapała has also been named as the Rector’s plenipotentiary for offshore wind energy development projects.
