Department of Science Representatives Attend TUPMO Forum and Conference
On 6th and 8th November 2023, representatives of Technical Universities from all over Poland gathered at Gdansk University of Technology for the Technical Universities Project Management Offices (TUPMO) Forum and 3rd Conference. The meeting was attended by the GMU Deputy Rector for Science, Dr Dariusz Barbucha, and representatives of the Department of Science Magdalena Winiarska and Anna Pawlak.
The first day of the event included a meeting of the (TUPMO Forum) Steering Committee, which was attended by 20 representatives of technical universities.
The 3rd TUPMO Conference dedicated to project management at Polish Technical Universities was held on 7th and 8th November. The conference was attended by more than 60 delegates from 23 universities, as well as experts from the National Centre for Research and Development, Anna Marciniak and Marzena Durkiewicz-Sirock, who presented the assumptions of the upcoming competitions for the academic community and led the first panel entitled ‘Experience of the National Centre for Research and Development following the Allocation of the first European Social Grants and the Process of Evaluation. The event was also attended by a representative of the Ministry of Regional Funds and Policy, Piotr Zajączkowski, who discussed the guidelines for the involvement of academic staff in European Social Fund projects during the period 2021 - 2027. Presentations were also given by staff from Gdansk University of Technology and AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow.
In addition to employment in European Social Fund projects, other main topics included the sustainability of projects, including the management of fixed assets generated and purchased as part of the projects.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange project good practices and undertake further initiatives in relation to cooperation and the acquisition of grants. The participation of experts from the National Centre for Research and Development and the Ministry's representative presented an opportunity to raise the University’s questions and doubts concerning the implementation of the projects in the new perspective.
