Faculty of Navigation Wins "Studies of the Future 2023”
The Faculty of Navigation of Gdynia Maritime University has once again been awarded the Certificate of Accreditation and the Employers' Award at the 8th edition of the "Studies of the Future" national competition and the accreditation programme.
The competition awards the most innovative and modern degrees and study programmes at Polish universities. The prestigious title of "Studies of the Future 2023" was awarded to the Faculty of Navigation for its undergraduate (first-cycle) degrees in navigation. A statute and an award certificate were presented to the Dean of the Faculty of Navigation, Dr Tomasz Neumann, during a ceremony at the Działyński Palace in Poznań.
The "Laur Pracodawców" certificate is awarded to faculties that offer study programmes in certified fields or specialisations of study, which have implemented the most unique and effective solutions in cooperation between Universities and the economic environment.
The "Studies of the Future" project is a competition based on quality and a nationwide environmental accreditation programme aimed at higher education institutions. The programme rewards the fields and specialisations of study that stand out for the modernity of their approach to education, the innovation of learning outcomes, the innovativeness of their practical education model and the level of achievement of academic goals in line with the needs and expectations of the labour market, in close cooperation with the social and economic environment. The quality mark "Studies of the Future" is granted to fields and specialisations of study which are based on three foundations: the aim of transferring currently applied, modern knowledge, the creation of the skills and social competencies sought by employers, and investment in the highest quality of education.
The award of certificates during the official Gala took place on 13th March in Poznań at the Polish Academy of Sciences's Działyński Palace and was carried out by Grażyna Kaczmarczyk, the President of the Foundation for the Development of Education and Higher Education, and Professor Dariusz Rott of the University of Silesia in Katowice, a member of the Committee for Accreditation of the "Studies of the Future" competition.
The organisers of the Programme are the Foundation for the Development of Compulsory and Higher Education and the Creative Agency of the public relations company PRC. The certificates were awarded based on recommendations and proposals of the Certification Committee, representing the academic and economic environments as well as NGOs.
