IAMU International Executive Board meeting
On April 19-20, 2021 an on-line meeting of the IAMU International Executive Board was held. The meeting was attended by representatives of ten maritime universities from all around the world and employees of the IAMU secretariat in Tokyo.
On the part of GMU, the meeting was attended by:
- Rector - prof. Adam Weintrit - chairman IAMU Academic Affairs Committee,
- the Rector's Plenipotentiary for IAMU - prof. Adam Przybyłowski - Contact Person,
and
- Director of the Shipping and Maritime Practices Department - prof. Bogumił Łączyński.
A number of key issues concerning the functioning of the association were discussed and approved, including strategic and academic - including research, teaching, organizational and financial issues. Rector presented details on the webinar entitled: "MET during the COVID-19", co-organized by GMU as the leader of the Academic Affairs Committee, which took place on January 13-14, 2021 and concerned maritime education and training in the face of COVID-19. The current pandemic situation and challenges related to international cooperation were also discussed.
The Annual General Assembly (AGA), scheduled in Alexandria, Egypt for October 26-28, 2021 has been announced.
The upcoming webinar "Future competencies for seafarer" on 28 of April, 2021 was also mentioned.
