New Year's Meeting for former University Staff
On Tuesday 31st January 2023, retired staff members of Gdynia Maritime University - members of the University's Solidarity association, met with Rector Professor Adam Weintrit. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Rector for Science, Dr Dariusz Barbucha, Head of the "NSZZ Solidarność" Trade Union, Marek Lubowiecki, DSc(Eng), Dr Paweł Krasowski - Vice-President of Trade Union and Head of the National of the GMU Workers' Union, Dr Jacek Hałaczkiewicz.
Guests were welcomed by the organiser of the event, Marek Lubowiecki. HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit gave a speech in which he spoke of the development of the University, the Offshore Centre, and the construction of the Sports and Recreation Centre.
Each of the guests received a small gift in the form of a wall calendar. The meeting was an opportunity to talk to the University authorities and reminisce about their time working at the University.
