Coming Soon on 8 March - Gdynia Maritime University Open Day

On March 8 2024, also International Women’s Day, Gdynia Maritime University will open its doors to the public for this year’s Open Day. If you’re looking to enter higher education but are yet to choose your preferred University, then why not come along and take a look at what Gdynia Maritime University has to offer?

Thinking that a degree from GMU is not really up your street? All the more reason to pay us a visit and discover the wide horizon of opportunities within reach of our graduates. We proudly show you our degree programmes and courses (and more) - both in maritime and non-maritime related subjects. Who knows, perhaps we’ll surprise you!

Below you can find the practical information on this unmissable event.

INFORMATION DESK

All visitors are invited to come to the information point as the first port of call on the day. The information desk is opposite the reception point in the lobby of the main University building on ul. Morska and also next to the reception in the Faculty of Navigation building on al. Jan Paweł II in the city centre. Here you can find out about the events you have registered for as part of the Open Day. One of our students will show you around the University, pointing out where the lectures and other events will take place.

If still need to sign up for something—don’t worry—at the information desk they’ll be glad to help.

PRESENTATION FOR WOMEN’S DAY

As this year’s Open Day is taking place on International Women’s Day, two exceptional women connected with the University’s sail training ship, the “Dar Młodzieży” will be giving a presentation on their work at sea. Zosia Olchowy, the 2nd mate onboard the famous frigate and Aleksandra Marcinkowska, the ship’s steward, will talk to visitors about why work at sea is a rewarding career for women.

FACULTY STANDS

In the University’s main T. Meissner hall, students from each of our four faculties will be on hand at stands to answer questions and give information on their Faculty’s degree programmes.

SCIENTIFIC CIRCLES

Also in the main hall, the University’s Scientific Circles will present their activity to all those interested,  and involve them in well-prepared interesting experiences, presentations and even competitions! There will be opportunities to talk to members of the following Student Scientific Circles:

PERHAPS YOU’D ALSO JOIN US FOR... A COFFEE?

We realise that visiting the GMU campus for the first time during Open Day can take its toll. All visitors are welcome to spend a few moments relaxing in a specially dedicated relaxation zone, where members of the GMU Student Parliament will be happy to get you a coffee and have a chat. They’ll also be glad to give you information on the activities of the Student Parliament and the upcoming South Molo Festival.
