Dar Młodzieży Arrives in Rouen, France
Dar Młodzieży arrived in Rouen, near Paris yesterday, Monday 6 June, where it will spend the next few days. The visit aims to widen cooperation between GMU, The Ocean Institute of Sorbonne University and the University itself.
On 7 and 8 June, a conference organised by Gdynia Maritime University, The Ocean Institute of Sorbonne University and Sorbonne University, will take place in Rouen and be attended by the local government authorities. Talks at the conference will focus on matters concerning the condition of the sea, climate change, and geopolitical events.
Also taking part in the conference is HM Rector Professor Adam Weintrit, leading authorities at Sorbonne University and also representatives of local governments of neighbouring towns.
The shared dialogue and exchange of experiences during the White Frigate’s stay in France will further the development of new opportunities for cooperation between GMU and the Ocean Institute and Sorbonne University in areas such as Erasmus +, and the participation of Dar Młodzieży in the annual Armada event in 2023.
On 8 June 2022, during a ceremonial gala, the Armada 2023 event, which will take place within exactly 360 days, will be officially announced.
GMU’s sailing ship will leave port in Rouen on 12 June and head for the port of Kiel.
