GMU Representatives Take Part in Events, Exhibitions, and Conferences in China

On 25-29 March, GMU representatives took part in events, exhibitions, and conferences in China.

The principal reason for the visit to the country was the acceptance of an award given to a team from the University as part of the New Kinetic Energy International High-Level Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, in which several thousand teams from around the world took part.

The competition was held in stages, with the earlier stages taking place in Europe and the latter in China. The GMU team, led by Dr Andrzej Łebkowski, and including members Wojciech Koznowski, Piotr Sikora, Piotr Szewczyk, and Oskar Łebkowski, was awarded second place for its project entitled ‘The Electric Vehicle Energy Consumption Optimiser’.

Representatives of the GMU Student Parliament, Oskar Łebkowski and Wojciech Koznowski from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering took the opportunity to promote the University, presenting some of its achievements and the education offered within GMU’s Faculties and the Maritime Institute.

Topics of discussion included the potential for the exchange of experience, joint research projects, as well as student and staff exchanges. The representatives were invited to and visited four higher education institutions: Jinan Technician College (12,000 students); Shandong Jianzhu University (26,000 students); Dezhou Vocational Technical College (21,000 students); and Dezhou University (25,000 students).

They were also actively involved in exhibitions and conferences on motorisation, where they presented on the subjects of electromobility, hydromobility, and renewable energy. The visit of GMU representatives was reported on in the Chinese press.
