Incone60 Green - Gdynia Maritime University Launches New Project
On 12 June 2024, at the GMU Centre for the Offshore Industry on Robert de Plelo in Gdansk a kick-off meeting was held for the INCONE60 Green - Digital and green transition of small ports international project, part of the Interreg South Baltic 2021-2027 programme and co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Gdynia Maritime University is the leader of the project.
The meeting was opened by the Director of the GMU Maritime Institute, Professor Krzysztof Czaplewski, who presented the University’s research potential and wished all partners success in realisation of the project. Taking part in the meeting were partners and stakeholders from Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Lithuania. Following the official inauguration, guests had the opportunity to visit the laboratories of the newly opened Centre for the Offshore Industry and the research ship IMOR.
During the meeting, the assumptions and tasks connected with the INCONE60 GREEN project were discussed. The project plans to develop and implement the SeaTech system, which, in conjunction with the SeaWay and SeaStat modules, will allow for more effective management of small and regional seaports, supporting their logistics operations and environmental activities. The project aims not only to improve the functioning of small ports but also to promote sustainable development and technological innovation, which will benefit both local communities and the entire Baltic Sea region.
