Maritime Industry Safety Forum

Pomeranian Special Economic Zone and companies PZU LAB and PZU S.A. are honoured to invite you to take part in the Maritime Industry Safety Forum 2024.

When: 18 April 2024
Where: Museum of the Second World War Conference Centre,
plac Władysława Bartoszewskiego 1, Gdańsk.

The principal themes of the 6th edition of the Forum will be Artificial Intelligence and modern energy solutions for the maritime industry. Discussions will focus on digital twins – a technology based largely on simulation, mathematical models, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Although it began on land, the industrial revolution left its mark equally quickly on life at sea. But is today’s maritime industry ready for digital technology? What prospects are there for the use of artificial intelligence on board vessels and in offshore installations? Do Polish offshore companies take appropriate precautions with digital security? What is the cost of implementing A.I in the maritime industry?

During the three thematic blocks, dual-use technology will be discussed for the safety of maritime communications based on examples of projects qualified for the NATO DIANA accelerator programme. We will discuss the opportunities and risks associated with the use of AI in autonomous maritime systems and energy infrastructure research in the Baltic Sea. Energy optimisation and the use of digital simulations in improving the safety of offshore wind farms will also be discussed.
