Reserve your place at Pomeranian Researchers’ Night - your chance to visit Gdynia Maritime University and experience the fascinating work of our researchers.
Pomeranian Researchers Night will soon be upon us. The event, which is co-financed by the European Union within the framework of the Horizon Europe programme, is dedicated to the challenges our continent will face before the year 2030. Participants will find out how current research may provide the answers to questions concerning our nearest future. The University’s history of contributing to the development of new technologies means it will naturally take part in the event.
This year GMU will be holding lectures on the following topics (click to register):
- The Role of the Ocean and its Pollution in Climate Change
- The Role of CO2 in Climate Change
- Green Transport Chains
- Planetarium – Celestial Navigation
- Visits to Select Research Laboratories at the Centre for the Offshore Industry
- Think Blue
- Modern Technology for the Transhipment of Crude Oil and Gas in the Offshore Sector
- Batychron
GMU researchers will discuss issues of climate change as a result of human impact on the environment. Talks will also focus on the green energy transition and renewable energy.
There will also be a further chance to visit the University’s Planetarium and the celestial navigation laboratory which will remain open.
European Researchers Night is a popular science event held annually n EU countries on the last Friday of September. The first Pomeranian Researchers’ Night took place in the Tricity on 29 September 2023 and was attended by almost 7,000 people. Those interested can take part in events at the Medical University of Gdańsk, the University of Gdańsk, Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdynia Maritime University, the Polish Naval Academy, Experyment Science Centre, and Hevelianum.
This spectacle of science has been prepared by more than 100 scientists, doctoral candidates, members of staff from other partner institutions, and student scientific circles. The event includes 172 attractions: experiments, presentations, games, quizzes and popular science lectures.
