Ambassador of Republic of Albania Visits GMU
On 16 April 2025, a meeting took place at Gdynia Maritime University between the University authorities and the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania in Poland, Mimoza Halimi, to discuss potential cooperation. Taking part in the meeting on behalf of GMU was HM The Rector, Professor Adam Weintrit.
The Rector was joined by Dr Sambor Guze, Deputy Rector for Education and Student Affairs, and Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk, Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed a framework for cooperation, particularly in relation to maritime education and student exchanges. Discussions also focused on the possibility of joint R&D projects. The meeting was also an opportunity to present the University’s education opportunities, as well as our scientific work and international cooperation. The Ambassador of the Republic of Albania, Mimoza Halimi, familiarised those present with the principal challenges faced by Albanian universities teaching maritime subjects.
HM The Rector of GMU presented the Ambassador with an invitation addressed to representatives of the academic community whose work is connected with maritime matters to attend the International TrasNav 2025 Conference in June.
