GMU Begins Cooperation with Centre for Ship Technology

On 31 July 2025, a meeting was held between GMU authorities and representatives of the Centre for Ship Technology (Centrum Techniki Okrętowej S.A.) to discuss potential collaboration on a project for the construction of a model basin. The meeting was attended by Professor Adam Weintrit, Rector of Gdynia Maritime University; Dr Sambor Guze, Deputy Rector for Education and Student Affairs; Professor Tomasz Tarasiuk, Deputy Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Development; and Filip Malata, GMU Chancellor. Representing the Centre for Ship Technology were Jan Dobiński, President, and Sylwia Kaczmarek, Head of the Design and Technology Department.

During the meeting, the Parties expressed their intention to commence mutual cooperation on a project involving the construction of a model basin for research on floating units, and hydrographic installations and structures. It was also agreed that it would be necessary to establish a consortium to secure funding for the implementation of the project.
